The local manufacturer Karsan, which is Europe's environmentalist choice with its public transportation solutions, took part in an important test event in Spain with its 8-meter class, 100% electric bus, Atak ElectricIn this context, Atak Electric was used in the pilot test drive and roadshow event on the Barcelona-Madrid route, which was created with a special 600-kilometer route. In addition, Atak Electric, although it is in the city bus class, was the first electric bus to be used between Barcelona and Madrid. This journey with Atak Electric, which gave successful results in terms of technical, operational, and logistics, was also important in terms of showing that an electric city bus can reach its destination on long trips with good planning. The driving event, which Atak Electric successfully completed in 14 hours with 3 recharges, was held in partnership with electric mobility charging solutions provider Circontrol and Karsan Spain dealer e-BusKar.

Karsan continues to break new ground by offering modern transportation solutions to cities with its public transportation systems and providing services in many parts of Europe with its electric vehicles. Karsan's Atak Electric bus, which took part in a roadshow and pilot test drive event in Spain, was tested on a 600 km route between the cities of Barcelona and Madrid. Karsan Atak Electric made a strong impression in the intercity bus class, which is a different segment, in the pilot test drive, where the applicability of electric buses at long distances at the operational, logistic, and technical levels was measured. It was the first time to travel by electric bus between Barcelona and Madrid thanks to Atak Electric with this test event organized jointly by electric mobility charging solutions provider Circontrol and Karsan Spain dealer e-BusKar. A test event with Atak Electric gave successful results in terms of technical, operational, and logistics; it also showed that an electric city bus can reach its destination on long trips with good planning. In this way, the importance of using electric buses instead of diesel-powered city buses, which travel an average of 200-250 km per day and emit approximately 56 tons of CO2 emissions per year, in the zero-emission target and its necessity for European passenger transportation was also revealed.

The long route has been created, Atak Electric has reached the range!

Within the scope of the test, in which studies such as determining the charging station points on long-distance journeys and determining the needs that may occur during the route, the route between Barcelona-Madrid was determined first. The journey started in Sabadell in the morning. It took 14 hours in total when Atak Electric arrived in Madrid in the evening of the same day. 3 stops were made for charging, in Lleida, Zaragoza, and Guadalajara during the journey.  The “Raption 50” model fast chargers produced by Circontrol company, more than 3,500 worldwide since its launch, were used to charge the batteries of Karsan Atak Electric. Karsan Atak Electric, which has a range of 300 kilometers and a capacity of 52 people, completed this journey silently with its 220 kWh electric motor, without the need for pauses other than breaks.

Atak Electric offers a range of 300 km

Atak Electric, which has a dynamic design line with its front and rear faces, draws attention at first glance with its LED daytime running lights. The electric motor operating in Atak Electric with a power of 230 kW produces 2,500 Nm of torque, providing a high-performance driving experience for its users. With a total capacity of 220 kWh with five 44 kWh batteries developed by BMW, the 8 m class Atak Electric can be charged in 5 hours with alternating current charging units and in 3 hours with fast charging units, while staying ahead of its competitors with its 300 km range. Moreover, thanks to the regenerative braking system that provides energy recovery, the batteries can charge themselves up to 25 percent. The model, which offers a passenger capacity of 52 people, has two different seat placement options, 18+4 and 21+4 folding.
